All Boys State staff have a organizational gmail (or G Suite) account. Here is how you access it and/or set it up.
Oregon Boys State uses Google's productivity suite (Called G Suite) that includes the following services:
Accounts are created and managed by the Super Administrator. Oregon Boys State has three Super Administrators. They are:
Stephan Price, Director
Brian McKinley, Simulation Director
Garrett Palmquist, Assistant Director
If you need help accessing your account, please contact one of them. During the week of the event, Garrett is your primary contact for Suite support.
Our domain is OregonBoysState.com. Your login is either your first and last name strung together or your first initial and last name, followed by @OregonBoysState.com
Examples of possible logs include:
Password resets are also available from a Super Administrator.
Accessing your Account
You should develop a protocol for accessing your account. There are typically two ways this can be accomplished.
Logging in with a Browser is the simplest, but least efficient, as it requires you manually log-in each time. It also does not provide you with notifications of incoming emails and files until you log in.
Setting up your Devices with the apps takes a bit of extra work on the front-end, but is much more efficient later on. It requires downloading your desired apps from the appropriate source. Once you log in to one, however, you are usually logged into all of them, and you do not need to re-log in again unless something changes. Also, you usually will receive notifications about incoming emails and files. Apps are available for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.
Which method should you use? That is more of a personal preference, but the best advise is if you are going to be using the Boys State G Suite a lot, you probably want to use the apps. If you plan to be a casual user, you can probably just get online with a browser.
Please note: If you decide to only access the Boys State GSuite with the browser, you should at least set-up email forwarding in your OregonBoysState.com Gmail to go to your personal email. That way you get notifications in your personal inbox when you have something waiting for you. Click here to learn how to forward your email in Gmail. (You can also set-up notifications if you use Chrome.)
Getting the Apps

Accessing Gmail and Calendar on your Device
You can also access your Boys State gmail and calendar on your device in the built-in settings. Use the link below to configure your device as desired.
iPhone/iPad (we do not use Google Sync currently, so skip that part and go to the next step).
Mac (Apple Mail)
A word about Calendar Sync on iOS
Google has implemented an unusual method of determining which calendars appear on your device. If you don't see all of the calendars you think you should be seeing, check the information on this link.
Hopefully this tutorial will help you get yourself up and running with GSuite for Oregon Boys State. If you have any questions or need help, please contact a Super Administrator (above).
